C. Ways For Local Churches to do “Cross-Cultural Missions” While Remaining Stateside

Not all churches may be able to send missionaries to other countries. However, ALL churches regardless of size or age of congregation CAN minister to the world community that God is bringing to our doorsteps. This includes immigrants, refugees, and also students from all continents. CrossNet provides THREE ways any church may minister to these folks.

The following organizations are TEAM ASSOCIATES which have partnered with CrossNet. Each organization brings a professional service to the CrossNet family. While CrossNet does not charge for its services, some of the following may charge for their services. Each organization is top-flight and CrossNet recommends them for your organization’s needs.

A. Telios Teaches – Child Safety Training

This organization specializes in child-protection training. In today’s internet-saturated, pornography-soaked culture, child sex abuse prevention has become a driving concern among churches and mission organizations. Indeed, sex abuse has closed both churches and missions organization. Telios Teaches www.teliosteaches.com is a national leader in providing Child Safety Training and Anti-Harassment Training for churches and missions organizations. They are a subset of Telios Law www.telioslaw.com, which provides legal resources for churches and missions organizations. Because of the relationship between Telios Teaches and CrossNet, those using Telios Teaches training can obtain a substantial discount for their services. Just contact CrossNet at info@crossnetglobal.com for more information. CrossNet is pleased to partner with Telios Teaches, and we welcome them to our family of resources.

B. Salt and Light Group – Field Security Training

Salt and Light Group provides training and risk consultation for those involved in global missions. The Basic Course is a full immersion live environment experience and prepares students for the realities they will face when going into missions work. Students will live, learn and communicate in a simulated missions context. The Advanced Course prepares students for the realities of high persecution, high risk, and conflict zones with emphasis on creative access, communication threats, and physical risk reduction. Courses are taught by experienced trainers in mission work, military special operations, and global risk management. Specific project consultation is available by request and is tailored to your unique situation. C. Institute for Community Transformation – Online BA and MA Education

The Institute for Community Transformation (ICT) provides an innovative, integrative, and experiential college-level education that emphasizes whole-person formation for the purpose of empowering leaders to catalyze whole-community transformation around the world. They help students to pursue God’s presence and become deeply rooted in God’s truth while being prepared for a vocation. They nurture spiritual growth and Christlikeness while gaining competencies in systems thinking and real-world problem solving. ICT is linked to two universities (Kairos University and City University) that share Christ-centered faith, and focus on competency-based education. CrossNet is pleased to partner with ICT, and we welcome them to our family of resources.

CrossNet

is not a sending organization. We exist to provide all we offer to help churches, mission organizations and Christian Universities equip and send cross-cultural missionaries.

Group toasting

CrossNet Global

uses Joshua Project data to identify areas most needing missionaries. We will assist people going anywhere in cross-cultural missions, but prefer helping candidates think through the possibility of reaching Unreached People Groups as defined by www.joshuaproject.net. Some of our Team have served in restricted areas, and we have contacts in many others.

Large Abandoned Church

Why CrossNet Global?

The last command Christ gave

before returning to the Father, was to “Go and make disciples of all nations….” Most Christians have the belief but feel they lack the capacity to obey this command. Even many churches and mission organizations have good intentions but lack basic essentials in preparing and supporting field candidates.

There is a have-versus-have-not gap
in many organizations’ ability to prepare, equip and support missionaries they send, or may wish to send. Large churches and mission organizations are often blessed with professional staff providing excellent training and ongoing support.

However:

Some mission organizations often don’t have the professional staffing they need to accomplish many essential tasks of preparation and ongoing care for their missionaries.

Some churches which send (or wish to send) missionaries are sometimes in the same boat, lacking professional staff, training and caring resources for their field staff.

Christian Universities, Colleges, Bible schools or other training organizations with mission training programs may have good staff and training capabilities, but unless they have several mission departmental faculty, it’s unlikely they have the depth and breadth of knowledge, tools and experience CrossNet offers. Furthermore, universities don’t provide ongoing member care training and support.

Connectivity with other like-minded organizations is often lacking, and even when provided by denominations, it is sometimes actually limited by denominational boundaries, leadership, traditions, theology, or staffing policies.

While there are one or two other Stateside organizations offering similar training CrossNet is unique because:

a. We provide a depth of academic training, practical knowledge, field training and skillsets born of decades of experience

b. We are committed to working with all sizes of churches and sending organizations

c. We are attached to a credible academic institution for training

d. We work cross-denominationally

e. And we operate online, therefore are free of charge

CrossNet enters this discussion with a depth of missions and professional experience and skillsets, leadership experience, academic horsepower and passion.
